Callie & Wes | Wilmington, North Carolina | Wrightsville Manor Wedding
The two weeks leading up to Wes and Callie’s wedding were tense. Hurricane Florence had slammed Wilmington, and numerous weddings earlier than theirs had been canceled already. We all anxiously waited to hear an assessment of the venue, whether or not the vendors were okay and had access to the city, and if the roads were going to be open.
By some miracle, everything pulled together days before the date. The roads were fixed and cleared, traffic was minimal, the venue was absolutely fine and most importantly, everyone involved was safe. The sun came out all day (aside from a sudden rain shower that pummeled us during beach photos, but these two embraced it) and the weather was beautiful.
Honestly this was one of the most heartfelt weddings I’ve ever experienced. Callie and Wes have been together a long time, and had been planning this day for literal years. They celebrated each other wholeheartedly, but especially celebrated their loved ones; the whole wedding felt like one giant family and the entire day was full of huge smiles, lots of tears and plenty of hugs to go around. Sarah and I left with full hearts and gratefulness that we got to be there for it.
